Fit, break-in and replacement
An ironworker boot that fits badly is worse than an ordinary boot that fits badly, because the consequence is measured in balance rather than blisters.
Fit at the end of the day in the socks you actually work in. You want a snug heel with no lift, room to spread the toes, and a boot that creases at the ball of the foot rather than back toward the arch.
